Etobicoke Centre (french: Etobicoke-Centre) is a federal electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1979. Geography The riding includes the neighbourhoods of Eatonville, Toronto, Eatonville (part), Islington-City Centre West (part), Richview, Toronto, Richview, Humber Heights - Westmount, Eringate – Centennial – West Deane, Markland Wood, Princess Gardens, Thorncrest Village and Humber Valley Village in the former city of Etobicoke, Toronto. History The riding was created in 1976 from part of the Etobicoke (federal electoral district), Etobicoke riding in what was then a constituent municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. On May 18, 2012, the Ontario Superior Court declared the 2011 federal election results for this district to be null and void. Etobicoke Centre is a provincial electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from parts of Etobicoke West and Etobicoke—Humber. When the riding was created, it included all of Etobicoke south of a line following the 401 to Dixon Road to Royal York Road to La Rose Avenue and north of a line following Dundas Street to the 427 to Burnhamthorpe Road to Kipling Avenue to Mimico Creek Mimico Creek is a stream that flows through Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. Islington-City Centre West (also known as Islington Village, Six Points or Etobicoke City Centre) is a commercial and residential neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. One of four central business districts outside Downtown Toronto, it is bounded by Rathburn Road to the north, Islington Avenue to the east, Bloor Street to the south, Mimico Creek to the west. History Islington centres on a commercial strip along Dundas Street West (originally The Governor's Road, the first highway connecting Toronto to London, Ontario) which runs along an escarpment (the Lake Iroquois Shoreline, ancient shore of Lake Iroquois) across the width of Etobicoke.
